Carnival Crumble Tart with Amaretti and Pistachio Cream, known in Italy as Sbriciolata di Carnevale con Amaretti e Crema al Pistacchio, is a festive dessert traditionally enjoyed during the Carnival season. Made with a buttery crumb base and topping, a rich pistachio cream filling and the unmistakable flavour of crushed amaretti, this tart is indulgent, fragrant and irresistibly Italian. Perfect served at the end of a meal or with a cup of coffee, it’s a celebration of classic Italian baking with a Carnival twist.

Ingredients
- 250gr plain Flour (shop here)
- 120gr Butter, cold and cubed
- 100gr Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 100gr Amaretti (shop here), crushed
- 200gr Pistachio Cream Spread (shop here)
- 200gr Italian biscuits (Macine, Galletti, Tarallucci or Pan di stelle) (shop here)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- In a bowl, rub the butter into the flour until crumbly.
- Add sugar and egg, mixing lightly to create a crumbly dough.
- Press half of the mixture into a lined tin.
- Spread pistachio cream evenly over the base.
- Sprinkle with crushed amaretti and biscuits.
- Cover with the remaining crumble mixture.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Cool before slicing.
