Carnival Crumble Tart with Amaretti and Pistachio Cream, known in Italy as Sbriciolata di Carnevale con Amaretti e Crema al Pistacchio, is a festive dessert traditionally enjoyed during the Carnival season. Made with a buttery crumb base and topping, a rich pistachio cream filling and the unmistakable flavour of crushed amaretti, this tart is indulgent, fragrant and irresistibly Italian. Perfect served at the end of a meal or with a cup of coffee, it’s a celebration of classic Italian baking with a Carnival twist.

Ingredients
250gr plain Flour (shop here)
120gr Butter, cold and cubed
100gr Sugar
1 Egg
100gr Amaretti (shop here), crushed
200gr Pistachio Cream Spread (shop here)
200gr Italian biscuits (Macine, Galletti, Tarallucci or Pan di stelle) (shop here)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a bowl, rub the butter into the flour until crumbly.
Add sugar and egg, mixing lightly to create a crumbly dough.
Press half of the mixture into a lined tin.
Spread pistachio cream evenly over the base.
Sprinkle with crushed amaretti and biscuits.
Cover with the remaining crumble mixture.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden.
Cool before slicing.
